About the event

Go Deeper with Skybird YOGA! a NEW Summer Series. To offer a space and experience where individuals can explore deeper layers of thought, practice, and presence through themes that expand awareness, cultivate curiosity, and inspire meaningful connection to self, others, and the world.

This Go Deeper Workshop: The Art of Seeing: Through Art, Intuition, and Energetic Awareness

We are always reading energy, in people, spaces, and situations, but most of us haven’t learned to trust what we sense. In this immersive, interactive workshop, you’ll learn to see beyond the surface by blending observation, intuitive perception, and embodied response. We will start by looking at art and then continue by seeing body energetics.

*** This is a 2 part workshop ***

The first part will be going to the Art Institute in Chicago on Monday, June 16th from 11:30 - 1pm (central time).

The second part takes place at the Skybird Barn Studio on Monday, June 30 from 11:30-1pm (eastern time).

Part 1

Gigi Vaffis – Art Institute of Chicago, Adjunct Lecturer

Gigi has always felt that without art, the soul shrinks. Its ability to expand thought, heart, perspective and everything in between encourages us to open up to the beauty, challenges, history, heartbreak and realities of our collective humanity. Gigi has been engaging viewers with the Art Institute’s 300,000 object collection since her two sons were toddlers. “No two gallery experiences are ever the same. My joy is the ‘ah-ha’ moment viewers create for themselves.”

Part 2

Elizabeth Nuti – Yoga Teacher at Skybird YOGA

Elizabeth has always believed that beneath the surface of every moment is a deeper invitation. Through breath, movement, stillness, and subtle awareness, she guides others back to the intelligence of their own body and the clarity of their inner truth. Her work weaves together the physical and energetic, the scientific and the sacred. In this workshop, you will be guided to see beyond the surface.

Location: Skybird Barn Studio

Title: The Art of Seeing: A practice in perceiving the unseen - exploring energy, intuition, and embodied awareness as doorways to deeper knowing.

Date/Duration: June 30, 12:30-2pm (EasternTime)

Through guided exercises and group work, you’ll practice tuning into energy through the physical body - noticing postural patterns, subtle tension, and the emotional or energetic signatures behind them. Then, you’ll explore how to respond intuitively through movement, using yoga poses and breath to shift, release, and integrate what’s revealed.

What We’ll Explore:

  • Visual reading of posture and subtle alignment

  • Energetic sensing: what’s being held, hidden, or protected

  • Developing intuitive language and nonjudgmental feedback

  • Boundaries, energetic hygiene & clearing practices

  • Using movement and breath as a tool for release and regulation

Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat.
