Skybird YOGA presents a Go Deeper Workshop

GO DEEPER: FEAR
A two-part immersive experience with Gigi Vaffis (Art Institute of Chicago, Adjunct Lecturer) & Elizabeth Nuti (Founder of Skybird Yoga)
Fear quietly shapes our lives - what we say, what we hold back, what we pursue, and what we avoid.
In this two-part Go Deeper Workshop, we explore fear not as something to fix or eliminate, but as something to understand, work with, and transform.

Part I: EXPLORING FEAR
Art Institute Experience with Gigi Vaffis
Monday, June 15, 2026
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM (CST)
Part I takes place at the Art Institute with Gigi, who will guide a 90-minute curated art experience examining how fear is defined, what triggers it, how it lives in the body, and how we respond to it.
Through intentional observation, reflection, and dialogue, we explore:
How fear is defined and perceived
What triggers it
How it shows up in the body
How it shapes our reactions and choices
Art becomes the mirror — offering a way to see fear more clearly, and from new perspectives.
Part II: MOVING THROUGH FEAR
Skybird Barn Studio with Elizabeth
14074 Minnich Rd in Sawyer, MI
Monday, June 29, 2026
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM (EST)
Part II brings the exploration inward — into the body, the breath, and lived experience.
Through breathwork, somatic awareness, and guided inquiry, participants will learn how to:
Recognize fear as it arises in the nervous system
Track it as sensation rather than getting lost in the story
Stay present instead of reacting, avoiding, or shutting down
Build capacity to meet fear with steadiness and clarity
This is a practical, embodied approach - a way of shifting from “fear is happening to me” to “fear is something I can work with.”
Investment
$160 - includes both sessions
*** Please note: To help keep the workshop cost as accessible as possible, admission to the Art Institute is not included in the workshop fee. However, we do have a handful of passes available to share with participants, and we’re also hoping that those who are Art Institute members may be open to sharing guest passes if they feel called. We’re grateful for the spirit of community and collaboration in helping make this experience accessible for everyone. If you already have a membership, your admission will work perfectly for the workshop.

Gigi Vaffis – Art Institute of Chicago, Adjunct Lecturer
Gigi has always felt that without art, the soul shrinks. Its ability to expand thought, heart, perspective and everything in between encourages us to open up to the beauty, challenges, history, heartbreak and realities of our collective humanity. She has been engaging viewers with the Art Institute of Chicago's 300,000 object collection for 18 years. As an adjunct lecturer for the museum’s Gallery Activation and Interpretation Department, Gigi facilitates customized workshops, as well as private and public tours in the galleries. Her speaking engagements draw upon various teaching strategies from inquiry, visitor response and slow looking to lecture-based and critical thinking experiences.
Elizabeth Nuti – Founder of Skybird Yoga
Elizabeth believes healing begins when we learn to listen more deeply — to the body, the breath, the nervous system, and the quieter truths within ourselves. Through movement, breathwork, sound, and guided inquiry, her work invites people into a more embodied relationship with themselves and their lives.
As the founder of Skybird Yoga in Sawyer, Michigan, Elizabeth has created classes, workshops, retreats, and sound healing experiences that blend ancient practices with a modern understanding of the body and nervous system. Her work is designed to help people reconnect to presence, resilience, intuition, and inner steadiness.
Known for her grounded yet intuitive approach, Elizabeth weaves together yoga, somatic awareness, breathwork, sound healing, and reflective dialogue in ways that are both accessible and transformative.
